The valley that lies on the Long Island Sound is owned by an anonymous private company, who does nothing with the vast amounts of land. Many have attempted to reach out and buy the land, though no one has been able to find who owns it. Some have (illegally) entered the property to try and find any trace of who owns it, but they never make it far before turning around, no longer motivated to try. The state of New York has been asked many times about the owners of the land, despite them not legally being allowed to disclose who it is for one reason or another. Though they assure everyone that all necessary paperwork is filled out, and the landowners are simply not interested in using or selling the land.
